Workplace Charging Scheme

Is your business EV ready?

The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) is administered by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV). OLEV is comprised of people and funding from the Department for Transport (DfT) and the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). The core purpose of OLEV is to support the early market for electric and other ultra-low emission vehicles (ULEVs). The WCS helps to support the adoption of Electric Vehicle charging points throughout the workplace.

The WCS is a voucher-based scheme designed to provide eligible applicants with support towards the upfront costs of the purchase and installation of EV charge points. The contribution is limited to £300 for each socket up to a maximum of 20 across all sites for each application. Only authorised installers are eligible to claim the vouchers, and this must be done before installation takes place. So, be sure to fill out your application at the time of your enquiry. The Charge point installation must be completed and the voucher claimed within the four-month period.

The process is as follows:

  1. Applicant completes application
  2. Voucher generated
  3. Installer completes installation
  4. Installer submits claim
  5. Installer receives grant

As authorised installers of the Workplace Charging Scheme and certified installers for Rolec EV Charging, we can offer clients discounts when you install EVC’s through Emtec Energy. Read more about the WCS on the OLEV website here, or speak to us today to find out how we can help.
