Combined heat and power system

Combined Heat and Power

Cover your electricity and heat demands simultaneously

Combined Heat and Power (CHP), also known as co-generation, is the simultaneous generation of heat and electricity. It is believed to be the most energy efficient technology as it utilises most of the energy produced.

By installing a system that captures both electricity and heat energy, there is less excess energy that goes to waste, meaning CHP systems are one of the most energy efficient installations on the market. This is a great way to reduce carbon emissions and your reliance on the grid.

Options available

CHP systems can either be installed as new or retrofitted to existing boilers for increased energy efficiency. If the system is installed locally, this generally saves more energy as less heat is lost through transportation. Micro-CHP / Micro Co-generation options are also available depending on the size of your property.

How CHP Works

CHP Icon 1

Generation

Fuel, such as gas, biomass or coal, is burned through ordinary combustion to produce power

Cogeneration

The excess heat energy from power generation is used to heat water simultaneously

CHP Icon 3

Usage

Companies are provided with both heat and power to cover a buildings energy demands throughout the day

Grid Connection

Connection to the electricity network allows any excess power to be fed back to the grid

Solar PV module

Good for business. Good for the environment.

CHP and Micro-CHP systems offer a much cleaner, greener way to produce heat energy. Unlike fossil fuels, it is kind to the environment. Installing such a system won’t only do wonders for your energy bills, it’ll do wonders for the environment too.
